Cinebook Ltd Newsletter 129 – September 2018
Dear Reader,
Shadows and dark sides. That’s the theme this month – and yet not a Jedi in sight! Starting with the second episode of Bear’s Tooth, our WWII aviation epic, where poor Max begins his difficult mission of infiltrating the Nazi war machine to assassinate … an old friend. An adventure as dark as it gets – but riveting nonetheless!
Then we have a new Spirou & Fantasio by Franquin for you, picking up immediately after the events of Z is for Zorglub. Our friends had won that round, but can such an arrogant, brilliant man as Zorglub really change his nefarious ways? Emit ot dnif tuo!
Finally, the third instalment of the solo adventures of the Marsupilami is here – and perhaps ‘solo’ is an exaggeration. Not only have we previously discovered a whole family of Marsus, but now a second male comes into play – one born in captivity! With assorted cast of angry natives, hapless visitors to the jungle, and some pretty shady characters, too!

BilBolBul Francesco Cattani e Mat Brinkman a BilBOlbul 2018 + BBB Consiglia: Ariol
Ve lo ricordate, no, che Francesco Cattani è il primo autore ospite di BilBOlbul 2018?

Ed è anche la mente (e la mano) dietro il manifesto ufficiale del festival, nonché padre del #bilbolbear: l’orso guida che abbiamo – o che ci ha – adottato per esplorare il fantastico, tema di questa edizione.
Il secondo autore in mostra è Mat Brinkman.
Fumettista, pittore, musicista, membro di Fort Thunder, grande innovatore dell’immaginario fantastico: Brinkman è una voce fondamentale del fumetto contemporaneo. Tanto estremo quanto influente, da anni vive distante dalla scena artistica, una scelta che ha contribuito alla sua mitizzazione. Ora però ha scelto BilBOlbul per tornare in scena con la prima retrospettiva al mondo della sua opera, e noi non vediamo l’ora di farvi vedere cosa ci siamo inventati per l’occasione.
Entrambe le mostre, quella di Francesco Cattani e quella di Mat Brinkman, saranno ospitate dagli spazi della Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna: due grandi autori in un colpo solo.

Mentre  lavoravamo come matti al festival, è ricominciata la scuola. Per festeggiare (ma si festeggia, poi, l’inizio della scuola?), il consiglio del mese è un fumetto per bambini: Ariol di Emmanuel Guibert e Marc Boutavant. Noi scommettiamo che vi piace anche se siete grandi.

I decided after a great deal of arguing that the PayPalMe button will be left on the page.

There were posts and even some short videos I was working on for posting to CBO but financially it cannot be done.  Everyone should know I used to -USED to- put in hours every day on this blog but no comments, no books sales and worsening financial situation -it had to stop.

I hate and despise the donation idea but I am told its the only way I can afford to do what was a full time job -look at the mega posts.

So it’s there.
