Comic-Con: Marvel Sets ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ For 2017

Well, Deadline.com reported on this and I thought “Really?”  But looking at the actress -why not?  And I’ll admit I have not seen the first Guardians movie yet so…

http://deadline.com/2015/10/sand-castle-adds-comptons-neil-brown-jr-guardians-2-casts-pom-klementieff-in-mystery-role-mantis-1201597456/
It’s being produced by Mark Gordon of the Mark Gordon Company, Justin Nappi through his Treehouse Pictures and Ben Pugh of 42. Treehouse is financing the film, which has been shepherded from inception by Gordon. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is executive producing. U.S. rights are held by the film’s producers, with international sales handled by Voltage Pictures, who will present the film to Buyers at AFM. Filming is set to begin next week. In addition to Compton, Brown’s credits include Fast And Furious and Battle: Los Angeles, and he soon will be seen in Bayou Tales. He’s repped by Pantheon and David Dean Management.

PomKlementieffGuardians of the Galaxy 2 has added a new member to the team of galactic heroes, casting French actress Pom Klementieff, best known in the U.S. for her role in Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy. Klementieff’s role is being kept under wraps for now, but we’re told she’ll be playing the superhero Mantis.

Introduced on the pages of Avengers #112 in 1973 and created by Steve Englehart and Don Heck, Mantis is the half-Vietnamese, half-German daughter of the antihero Libra, and a martial arts expert with psychic abilities and ties to the alien Kree race. Since 2007 the character has appeared as an uneasy member of the Guardians as a kind of ship’s counselor and has played a key role in recent storylines involving the team, most notably in the Secret Invasion crossover. The character is also tied closely to Thanos, played by Josh Brolin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel conducted a wide search for an actress of Asian descent, leading to much speculation that Mantis would appear in Guardians 2. Stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are returning along with writer-director James Gunn. Klementieff is repped by Untitled Entertainment.

Uncle Terry’s Mad, Bad Halloween Scary Video Selection!

Okay, on the old Yahoo 360 blog I used to do this Halloween weird stuff -odd stories or video clips for the visitors.

I just finished some filing and realised it’s nearly All Hallows Eve…Samhain…so why not?

I shall be stalking the graveyards of The Vale looking for evidence of “the Pig Boy”!   About time my old service revolver got some use.

So try these……and…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

And here we go with an alert to all S.A.T.A.N. (Supernatural Agents To All Nations) agents…..
CODE 666  !!!!

AAAAAAARGH!!

I call this one….”A Bit of Pee Just Came Out!”
I call this “There is an alien looking in your window right now and it pooped its silver suit”
I call this…..meh…………….
I call this one “A Day In My Life”
Yeah, yeah, yeah -“whatabout the aliens?”
What the feck happened to the really -REALLY- spooky ghost stuff? Now its all aliens! mah.

Yeah, feckin alien cow-nappers! Actually they are from Dimension 00X23
ABSOLUTELY GENUINE -I’VE SEEN THE TOP SECRET FILES!
So, do YOU believe? Really? Not even if I dressed up as Agent Scully -I can wear the heels…or maybe…

EEEEK! I resorted to a girly-shot.  Things have gotten bad here!

Lee James Turnock -Okay Comic

https://i0.wp.com/s.ecrater.com/stores/161150/55b739f174bbc_161150b.jpg

MY GOODNESS!! Lee James Turnock – the UK’s Least Known Underground Cartoonist – returns with his latest entry into the world of ribald yoks & scathing, autobiographical humour!! ADULTS ONLY, children – despite the stunning, Roy Wilson-inspired cover!

– 4 bucks
– 32 pages (saddle stitched)
– Colour cover/ B&W interior
– Sized to 5 ½” x 8” -A5-(perfect for stickin’ under your arm when you sneak off to your infidel meetings!)

  I

I will guarantee you that at this very moment (or whenever) someone out there -and they know who they are- is going to read “Lee James Turnock” and teeth will be ground, veins will pop and all sorts of nastyness will be uttered….and that’s before they get to me!

You see, we had a few Underground Comix in the 1960s-1980s and now, forgive me if I’m wrong and if you can correct me (but I know no one ever does), we have only Mr Turnock’s offerings –via Canada ffs!  Seriously.

I do hope that the admirer of bountiful women gets some positive feedback (or money) from his work because 99% of things I’ve read on the internet are from talentless, often trying to be anonymous, little whiners who are obviously very jealous.

I can’t show pages because CBO is family and overseas sensitive, but you can see samples of pages here..

Ooh, and while you are there -buy a copy!

It is strictly adults.  Starting out with Goddess Lucy -A Weighty Problem and George Groper on the same page ought to get the jealous ones fuming and angry (but they must be buying to criticise, surely?) but there is also Got Milk? The latter probably not best to look at while pouring milk on your cereal. I liked Weird Ball -a style and take off of those old British weekly comics where some kid found something great and had adventures with…not quite like this, though.

Whattock Hunt and If I Ruled The World are all good fun.  Good Underground Comix strips liable to offend most readers which makes it a good thing.  No rebooting so that every woman is now Hollywood Slim here.

I like the art style and the printing really brings to inks out.  So, if you have an Underground Comix leaning then buy this. Support British talent and also be happy knowing the lurking whiners will be hurt every copy you buy!

I’m Pissed Off

Just to let everyone know, not that anyone is in the least bit interested, absolutely not a single response to my request for readers overseas to forward any links of small publishers that might be interested in Black Tower Comics.

I’d write “thanks” but I think we all understand sarcasm?

No sales.  No reactions to anything.  Guess what happens to CBO January 2015?  15 –15– years and total viewing of CBO posts -via Google+ etc- now at well over 6 million.  And I may as well keep everything I post to myself.

Yeah, I’m pissed.

A Slight Correction

he post headed “Tommy Wiseau to direct a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot”  should have read “Tommy Wiseau WANTS to direct a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot” -apologies there.
But that writ, I am really surprised the post got that high a number of hits!
Does this mean people were TERRIFIED he was going to direct an FF movie or HOPEFUL???

Tommy Wiseau to direct a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot

Interesting piece on The Daily Dot that ought to give fans acid indigestion!
The Fantastic Four franchise is in serious trouble, with the latest reboot being panned by critics and achieving disappointing box-office numbers.

Tommy Wiseau wants to direct a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, and honestly, let’s just let him

So what better way to revitalize the franchise than by rebooting it yet again, this time with a director whose debut film has a passionate cult following after more than a decade in theaters?

Obviously we’re referring to Tommy Wiseau, the filmmaker behind the famed “worst film ever,” The Room.

In an interview with Milwaukee Magazine, Wiseau made his interest clear. “You know, I told you I saw this Fantastic Four,” he said. “I’m not being critical—let me put it this way, I like it, I did enjoy number one.  Number two, it’s too bad they didn’t call me.”

Wiseau continued: “Good response in Europe though, that’s my understanding, but it’s too bad they didn’t call me, that’s my point.  Maybe if there’s a sequel, you know. You know, maybe your article gets me that job.”

Honestly, after this many disappointing Fantastic Four adaptations, a Wiseau-led version couldn’t possibly be any worse. 20th Century Fox should just go ahead and give him a call.
